Rookie quarterback Bo Nix will make his first start for the Broncos when they head on the road to take on the Seahawks in Week 1.

After a stellar training camp and preseason, Nix won the starting job, and his introduction to the NFL will come against a strong Seattle defense. The Broncos are in Year 2 under Sean Payton and will hope to compete in the AFC West after finishing 8-9 last season with a young team.

Perhaps the biggest star for Denver is defensive back Patrick Surtain II, who recently became the highest-paid player at his position in NFL history.

The Seahawks have finished 9-8 in consecutive seasons. After 14 years, they also have a new head coach Mike Macdonald after the departure of Pete Carroll. Macdonald is a creative defensive mind from the Ravens tasked with taking over a historically strong Seattle defense returning many key pieces.

New offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb hopes to jumpstart the offense with star receiver DK Metcalf and veteran quarterback Geno Smith.
