Bears vs. Packers: Prime-time stage has led to memorable moments in rivalry image

The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears have a rivalry that dates back to 1921 — and the Packers hold a 98-94-6 advantage in the regular season.

Those storied NFL rivals meet at Lambeau Field on Sunday Night Football, and it marks their 24th meeting on a prime-time stage.

Those games have produced some of the more memorable moments in the rivalry's history. Here is a look at six of those moments — three victories for each team.

Meet 'The Fridge'

  • Date: Oct. 21, 1985
  • Final: Chicago 23, Green Bay 7

The undefeated Bears added an exclamation mark to a Monday Night Football victory against the Packers by putting in William "The Refrigerator" Perry in at fullback. The 335-pounder scored a one-yard TD, threw down a hard spike and Chicago continued its "Super Bowl Shuffle" on a remarkable 15-1 season.

Which catch was better?

  • Date: Sept. 11, 1995
  • Final: Green Bay 27, Chicago 24

The 1995 Monday Night Football game at Soldier Field is remembered for two catches. Brett Favre connected with Robert Brooks for a 99-yard touchdown that ignited the Packers' victory. But Bears fan Bill Burr stole the spotlight when he jumped out of the stands to catch Kevin Butler's extra point.

Which one was better?

Ice-cold Bears win

  • Date: Dec. 22, 2008
  • Final: Chicago 20, Green Bay 17

The game-time temperature at Soldier Field was 2 degrees for a late-season Monday Night Football matchup where the Packers tried to play spoiler. Chicago defensive end Alex Brown blocked Mason Crosby's 38-yard field goal with 18 seconds left, however, and Robbie Gould nailed the game-winning 38-yarder in overtime.

Rodgers spoils Culter's debut

  • Date: Sept. 13, 2009
  • Final: Green Bay 21, Chicago 15

The Packers and Bears met in the Sunday Night Football opener, and it was the debut for Jay Cutler with the Bears. Cutler threw four interceptions, and Aaron Rodgers hit Greg Jennings for a 50-yard game-winning TD pass with 1:11 remaining.

Bears spoil Favre's Thanksgiving

  • Date: Nov. 26, 2015
  • Final: Chicago 17, Green Bay 13

The Packers welcomed Brett Favre back to Lambeau Field to retire his number on Thanksgiving, and Bart Starr attended the ceremony. The Bears, however, spoiled the party in a rain-soaked game on the field. Cutler passed for 200 yards and avoided the big turnover, and the Bears limited Rodgers to one TD pass.

Rodgers' big comeback

  • Date: Sept. 9, 2018
  • Final: Green Bay 24, Chicago 23

The Bears entered the Sunday Night Football opener with confidence after trading for Khail Mack. Chicago dominated the first half, and Rodgers left with a leg injury. The Bears built a 20-0 lead with the help of Mack's pick six, but Rodgers returned in the second half to lead an almost-impossible comeback. Rodgers' 75-yard TD pass to Randall Cobb capped the victory.
