Monday's Christmas night clash between the Ravens and 49ers was billed as a marquee clash, one that could have major implications come award season.

Nothing is guaranteed. But if Monday's showing was any indication, Lamar Jackson could be lifting some more hardware in a few months.

Jackson and Baltimore's defense painted a masterpiece against San Francisco, pouring in points on one end and preventing them on the other en route to a 33-19 victory.

The Ravens (12-3) have long been considered the cream of the AFC. But it remained to be seen how they would compete against the Niners (11-4), a complete unit that many believed has been football's best over the course of the year.

Jackson was electric, completing 25-of-32 pass attempts for 252 yards and two touchdowns. The likely MVP frontrunner continued to stand tall in the pocket even as San Francisco's vaunted Gold Rush swelled. He was his typical artful self in open air — he picked up an addition 45 rushing yards on seven carries. But his commitment to the throw was what stood out on Monday. Countless times, he used his slaloming running style to set up lengthy pass plays.

It wasn't just him, though. Zay Flowers (nine catches, 72 yards, one touchdown) and Isaiah Likely (three catches, 56 yards) were prominent forces down the field. That's not to mention the Ravens defense, which picked off four Brock Purdy passes while holding the 49ers to less than 20 points for the first time since Week 8.

Purdy faltered beneath a steady pour of Baltimore defenders. Jadeveon Clowney continued his resurgence with a pair of sacks, while Kyle Hamilton had two interceptions.

February is the only thing that matters for both sides. But the Ravens looked a menacing proposition for one of the league's most dangerous teams. Rest assured, the rest of the NFL is taking notice.

(All times Eastern)

End of fourth quarter: Ravens 33, 49ers 19

11:32 p.m.: INTERCEPTION! Game. Set. Match. Marcus Williams plucks Darnold's effort out the sky for their fifth pick of the game. What a showing in all three facets of the game by Baltimore.

11:30 p.m.: Clowney and Brent Urban combine to bring Darnold down again. Fourth-and-goal. Last-chance saloon for San Francisco.

11:25 p.m.: Brandon Stephens grabs a fistful of Aiyuk on the goal-line, prompting a flag. The Niners still have a chance here.

11:22 p.m.: Darnold has San Francisco moving down the field with relative efficiency. He's gotten Aiyuk involved in back-to-back plays, with the star WR picking up 31 yards in the blink of an eye. A third-and-three just outside the shadow of the end zone greets them with a little over three minutes left in regulation.

11:15 p.m.: 49ers defense holds firm. Darnold returns to the cockpit as San Francisco looks to make its comeback effort.

11:10 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Darnold brings San Fran to the promised land with a blazing effort to Ronnie Bell. The Niners have pulled it within two touchdowns.

Ravens 33, 49ers 19

11:06 p.m.: Purdy slow to get up after being swept in a crunching sack by Jadaveon Clowney. Sam Darnold will enter the game with a little more than seven minutes left.

10:50 p.m.: TURNOVER ON DOWNS! Purdy kinda just tosses a balloon into the air, one that McCaffrey brings down behind the line of scrimmage but it unable to do anything with.

End of third quarter: Ravens 33, 49ers 12

10:38 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Baltimore concludes its 10-play, 94-yard odyssey with yet another Tucker kick.

Ravens 33, 49ers 12

10:35 p.m.: The big plays continue for Jackson and Co. Another 23 yards secured after Jackson fizzes one into Justice Hill.

10:32 p.m.: Isaiah Likely's surge continues, with Jackson whipping a pass right into his tight end's grasp. Likely then carves past his marker for 34.

10:30 p.m.: When it rains, it pours for San Fran.

10:26 p.m.: Ravens stuff the Niners once more, with Deebo Samuel dropping a pass on third-and-long. The ball is headed back to Baltimore, although it will be pinned inside its own five after a booming punt.

10:19 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Jackson. Flowers. Tuddy. This one is getting out of hand at present.

Ravens 30, 49ers 12

10:17 p.m.: INTERCEPTION! Purdy throws another one! Patrick Queen reels in Purdy's errant throw after the QB takes a hit on the drop back. Baltimore is putting on a show.

10:12 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Jackson hits Nelson Agholor in the corner of the end zone! The Ravens quarterback has been about as smooth as they come in this one. And it's got Baltimore in a wonderful position early in the third.

Ravens 23, 49ers 12

10:10 p.m.: Huge play between Jackson and Edwards, with Jackson deceiving the Niners' defense courtesy of a fake run. Edwards field the subsequent pass and takes it some 39 yards, once again bringing Baltimore on the brink of a score.

10:07 p.m.: 49ers first possession of the second half goes wanting. Their misery gets compiled after their punter gets whistled for a late hit. Ravens will get the ball beyond midfield!

9:48 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Tucker hits to push Baltimore's lead to four at the end of the first half.

Ravens 16, 49ers 12

9:46 p.m.: Jackson slaloms beyond San Francisco's defense for a 31-yard gain, the longest run of his season. That will bring Baltimore inside the red zone — and firmly within Tucker's range.

9:35 p.m.: Ravens overcome a hands in the face penalty to grab a first down on third-and-intermediate.

9:30 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! McCaffrey again! Burst through the mire and fights off contact to cut the Ravens' edge to one. Hard to argue there's a better player than him in football at the moment.

Ravens 13, 49ers 12

9:28 p.m.: Huge gain by McCaffrey, who finds a hole and marauds some 39 yards to bring the Niners on the doorstep of Baltimore's end zone.

9:20 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Tucker's subsequent effort finds its target after San Francisco's defense holds Baltimore to a three-and-out.

Ravens 13, 49ers 5

9:15 p.m.: INTERCEPTION! Humphrey deflects another Purdy pass, which once more lands in the hands of Hamilton! Interception No. 3 of the day for the man considered by many to be the MVP frontrunner.

9:09 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! What a play! What a drive! Baltimore caps it off in style, with Gus Edwards finding the end zone on fourth-and-goal! The Ravens have been quite impressive in the early moments. Now, they've got their just rewards.

Ravens 10, 49ers 5

9:04 p.m.: Zay Flowers explodes beyond two defenders as the Ravens make their way towards the red zone once more. No. 4 has his fingerprints all over this game to start.

9:00 p.m.: INTERCEPTION! Phenomenal play by Baltimore's defense to record its second interception of the game. Brandon Stephens deflects the ball up on the line, at which point Marlon Humphrey reels it in at midfield! The Ravens defense is on its game early.

End of first quarter: 49ers 5, Ravens 3

8:51 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Justin Tucker sinks the chip shot. Ravens get themselves on the board and show they can move the ball a little against this vaunted Gold Rush defense.

49ers 5, Ravens 3

8:48 p.m.: Tashaun Gipson handed another costly penalty on the face mask call, one that will now bring the Ravens inside the red zone.

8:46 p.m.: Defensive pass interference call brings the Ravens into 49ers country for the first time tonight.

8:40 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Moody drills his 45-yard effort through the uprights!

49ers 5, Ravens 0

8:39 p.m.: It's been a decent start for Baltimore's defense so far. Another third down stop will bring Jake Moody on the field.

8:37 p.m.: Ronald Darby tagged with a defensive holding call, which will negate the Ravens' stop on fourth and short. The Niners will get four new downs in prime real estate.

8:34 p.m.: 49ers starting to find a rhythm on drive No. 2. Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk featuring heavily as San Fran probes into Baltimore territory once more.

8:31 p.m.: SAFETY! Jackson trips over the umpire while backpedaling into the end zone, leading to an intentional grounding call! Because the call was made in the end zone, it's a safety! I'm as confused as you are!

49ers 2, Ravens 0

8:24 p.m.: INTERCEPTION! The Niners see their scoring efforts go up in smoke courtesy of a Kyle Hamilton interception on the goal line!

8:22 p.m.: Brock Purdy and the Niners blow things open on third down! He finds George Kittle cutting through the meadow, who proceeds to trot 58 yards to bring the ball on the cusp of the red zone!

8:20 p.m.: Baltimore gets the ball to start the proceedings but hands it to the Niners after just four plays. San Francisco will get its crack at scoring after just a minute.

8:00 p.m.: The GOAT is in the building. And he made sure to bring the drip, too, pulling up to Levi's Stadium with a glistening gold medallion.

7:41 p.m.: The men of the hour getting ready for their battle tonight. The MVP very well could be on the line in this one.

7:33 p.m.: Odell Beckham Jr. looks to be enjoying the opportunity to play on Christmas Day. Now, to figure out just where he got that shirt from.

7:25 p.m.: Here's a look at the inactive for tonight's clash.

7:15 p.m.: George Kittle taking no prisoners ahead of tonight's primetime clash. Hopefully his actions won't leave that medicine ball with a bruised ego.
