The Browns are on "Monday Night Football" for the second time in four weeks, this time traveling to face the undefeated 49ers.
San Francisco has beaten up on subpar teams thus far, bringing significant intrigue to the Monday night meeting with a Cleveland team that's lacked consistency but is coming off its best win of the season.
Browns QB Baker Mayfield threw for 342 yards last week against the Ravens, but he was merely offering support to a 20-carry, 165-yard, 3-touchdown performance from running back Nick Chubb. Wide receiver Jarvis Landry had 167 receiving yards on 8 catches, while Odell Beckham made just 2 receptions for 20 yards.
The 49ers haven't strayed from their run-heavy formula. The two-headed monster of Raheem Mostert and Matt Breida has received at least 24 carries in all three of the team's games, keeping pace with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in most cases.
The Browns' gameplan will surely be to force Garoppolo to make plays for himself rather than handing off on play after play. If defensive coordinator Steven Wilks' group is successful in that, San Francisco may be on its way to its first loss of the season.
