If you want to try to find something that Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes doesn't do well on the football field, you're going to be searching for a while. Mahomes' critics finally got something to jeer about. It was a good moment turned into an iconicly bad one in an instant.
The Kansas City quarterback had just led a 59-yard scoring drive that ended with Mahomes running it in from 10 yards out. What happened next, delighted Mahomes' doubters and went viral in an instant.

Patrick Mahomes spike vs. Bills
Mahomes doesn't get to celebrate his own touchdowns very often. He had never had two rushing touchdowns in the same game until the AFC Championship against the Bills. The second touchdown on the ground gave Kansas City a lead in the fourth quarter. You can see Mahomes overcome with excitement from his touchdown and what it means. He forces his way to his feet and attempts to energetically spike the ball into the ground.
The ball slips out of his hand and comes out super awkwardly. Instead of a triumphant plant into the ground, it shoots off to the side and toward the stands.
The points still count, though, and that's likely all Mahomes cares about.
