Keys to victory

Which teams shakes off a loss?

Wisconsin and Miami fell short in their respective conference championships — it will be interesting to see which team fully shakes that off. The Badgers have won their last two bowl games, however, and can lean on running back Jonathan Taylor (1,847, 13 touchdowns) and a strong defense. Miami, meanwhile, will look to get its confidence back after losing its final two games and getting handled by Clemson in the ACC championship.

"Turnover Chain"

Miami's turnover chain became the most talked about accessory in college football this season, and Wisconsin quarterback Alex Hornibrook has thrown 15 interceptions this year. The Badgers can't fall into third-and-long situations. On the other side, Miami's Malik Rosier finished with 11 interceptions.

The trenches

How does Wisconsin's offensive line match up with Miami's front seven? On the other side, Can the Badgers disrupt Miami's improved front? Mark Richt and Paul Chryst will preach physicality in the buildup, but it's the team that stays on schedule and avoids penalties that will win here.

Bold prediction

Rosier leads a game-winning drive for the game-winning touchdown in the final minutes.

Early pick
