Grier ran toward the goal line with the score tied at 0-0 and just under five minutes left in the first quarter. Grier fumbled the ball into the end zone for a touchback and, following the play, headed to the sideline holding his right hand in the air with his middle finger completely out of place.
Grier was 6 of 8 passing for 50 yards prior to the injury. He was replaced by sophomore Chris Chugunov on the next possession. Grier, a transfer from Florida, has thrown for 3,440 yards and 34 touchdowns for West Virginia so far this season. Will Grier's finger, Noooooo pic.twitter.com/aB3zSD63g4
