Urban Meyer might still reside in the heart of Buckeye nation, but it's The Swamp that he still looks to as college football's premier home environment.

Meyer, part of a three-person panel on Fox College Football, said night home games at Florida are "second to none" — including at Ohio Stadium.

"Steve Spurrier named it The Swamp I believe in the '90s. It's very hot," Meyer said. "Gainesville is, obviously, in the center, right in the center of the state, not a whole lot of air circulates in the center of the state in Florida. Especially early in the season, it is so hot. Only Gators get out alive is what Steve Spurrier said. And so the fans, the student body is incredible and the fans are out of their damn minds."

Meyer announced his retirement as coach of the Buckeyes on Dec. 4 after a season in which he was suspended following a report that he mishandled the Zach Smith domestic abuse allegations. He said health was the primary factor that led to his retirement.

Meyer was Ohio State's coach from 2012-18 after a year-long hiatus from coaching. Before that, he was Florida's coach from 2005-10. He won two national championships with the Gators (2006 and '08) and one with the Buckeyes (2014).

Meyer, now a college football analyst with Fox Sports, still retains the title of assistant athletics director in Columbus with the Buckeyes. If Meyer is honored for his championship-winning at Ohio State, it will be interesting to see what reception he receives from a home stadium that might be second to one in his opinion.
