Washington left tackle Trey Adams will not play in the sixth-ranked Huskies' season opener against No. 9 Auburn, according to a report from The Seattle Times.

Adams, a preseason All-American, did not travel with the team to Atlanta due to a back injury, multiple sources told The Times.

That only adds another degree of difficulty for Chris Petersen and the Huskies, who will need to take on a staunch Auburn defense in what is essentially an away game, now without their best offensive linemen. It will be interesting to see how quarterback Jake Browning and running back Myles Gaskin perform without Adams anchoring the left side of the line.

This will not be the first time Adams has missed time with an injury, either: He missed the last five games of the 2017 season with a torn ACL.
