SN Week 7 college football rankings: Top-10 shakeups move nation's top teams image

It was a big week for Sporting News' top-10 college football teams, most notably for Auburn and Florida.

The Tigers and Gators met for an SEC-styled defensive slugfest in The Swamp that saw Florida come away with an impressive victory thanks to its defense and several big plays from its offense. Ohio State was equally impressive in its destruction of Michigan State, yet remained static at No. 3 behind Alabama and Clemson.

Penn State and Oklahoma switched places in the top 10 after the Nittany Lions took care of business against Purdue while the Sooners struggled more than they would have liked with Kansas. Texas also moved into the top 10 with a gutty win over West Virginia, setting the stage for a huge Red River Rivalry showdown.
