Oklahoma will have to try to climb back from a large first-half deficit against TCU without its starting quarterback.
On Saturday, Sooners quarterback Dillon Gabriel was hit in the head while sliding on a scramble to the left by linebacker Jamoi Hodge, and had to leave the game. Hodge was ejected from the game for targeting.
Prior to his injury, Gabriel had completed 7-of-16 passes for 126 yards without any touchdowns or picks. He entered the contest with 1,089 passing yards with 11 touchdowns and no interceptions, while completing 66.7 percent of his passes.
With Gabriel out, Davis Beville replaced Gabriel under center.

Replacing Gabriel is Beville, a transfer from Pitt ahead of the 2022 season. Beville was a three-star recruit, per 247Sports Composite Rankings in 2019. In his collegiate career, Beville has completed 24-of-34 passes for 251 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
Should Gabriel miss any extended time, Beville figures to be the replacement as long as the starter is out.
