The third matchup all time between Notre Dame and Georgia is a big one.
The No. 7 Fighting Irish take on the No. 3 Bulldogs in a contest that figures to go a long way in determining the playoff field.
Notre Dame (2-0) faces its first major obstacle of the 2019 season, having beaten Louisville 35-17 on the road and New Mexico at home by a score of 66-14.
Irish quarterback Ian Book is off to a fast start with six passing touchdowns and zero interceptions on the year. Book is also tied with Tony Jones Jr. for the team lead with 127 rushing yards. It's been a mixed bag for Book against top-10 opponents in his career. He attempted six passes and threw a pick in a blowout loss to No. 7 Miami back in 2017, had a near-perfect outing of four passing touchdowns against No. 7 Stanford last September and was 17-of-34 with an interception in last year's playoff loss to Clemson.

Georgia (3-0) has yet to face much resistance on the young season and will look to disrupt Book with its stingy defense. The Bulldogs have scored a total of 148 points and allowed just 23 in their routs of Vanderbilt, Murray State and Arkansas State. The opponent points per game average of 7.7 ranks third in college football.
