New Mexico football head coach Bob Davie will miss the team's next game at Notre Dame, on Sept. 14, following a medical incident last week.
Davie, 64, was hospitalized shortly after New Mexico's season-opening win over Sam Houston State on Sept. 1. He suffered a "serious medical incident" and was prompted by doctors to focus on his recovery.

"After receiving advice from my doctors and my wife, I wanted to make this decision now so our team and coaching staff could go into the weekend with clarity and consistency," Davie said.
"My doctors have said that with no setbacks I can expect a full recovery with no limitations. I have great confidence in our staff and this gives us our best chance for success and limits the distractions."
Davie is currently in his 13th year as an FBS head coach. He spent his first five seasons with Notre Dame, leading the Fighting Irish to a 35-25 record and three bowl appearances. With New Mexico, Davie is 34-54 with two bowl appearances since taking over the program in 2012.
Saga Tuitele will be the active head coach in Davie's absence. Tuitele is the offensive line coach and run game coordinator. The remainder of the New Mexico coaching staff will continue with their current roles.
New Mexico has a bye this weekend and its next home game will be Sept. 21 against New Mexico State.
