Jacob Copeland had three hats on the table in front of him as he prepared to make his announcement on National Signing Day: Tennessee, Alabama or Florida.
His mom, seated next to him, was wearing a Tennessee hat and Alabama sweatshirt. A member of his crew behind also wore Tennessee gear. So when he picked up and donned the Florida hat, it was a bit of a surprise — especially to his mom.

The ESPN host immediately asked Copeland about what happened.
“I don’t know exactly why she walked out," he said. "I can’t go with my mom, I want to go with my heart.”
His heart told him Florida. To be fair, ESPN2 later reported Copeland's mother returned to the gym where her son had committed to his college future.
