Let no one ever accuse Mike Gundy of nepotism.
During Big 12 Media Days last week, the Oklahoma State coach revealed just how much familial ties matter to him when it comes to choosing a starting quarterback (hint: not a lot). With his son Gunnar Gundy a potential target in the 2020 class, Mike Gundy offered this zinger on how he might coach his son should he choose to play for the Cowboys:
“I told him, if you come to Oklahoma State, I’ll coach you like I do everybody else, maybe harder," Gundy said. "You’re the best player, you’ll play. If not, you won’t play — even though I’m sleeping with your mom.”

Mark that as another win for Mike Gundy at Big 12 Media Days (the first, of course, being that magnificent mullet).
The elder Gundy has a proven track record of producing elite talent at the quarterback position, so his son might be willing to deal with his dad's eccentric quips at Oklahoma State. Then again, considering the potential for "your mom" jokes his father might lob at him, Gunnar may be safer taking his talents out of Stillwater.
