Some college football head coaches spend the bye week relaxing at home with family and friends. Others spend it getting ahead of work, using the extra time to scout future opponents.
Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy used the Cowboys' bye week to tend to his cattle — and may have gotten more than he bargained for with his cows.
There are few coaches in the NCAA like Gundy. Whether it's the Oklahoma native's mullet or his infamous quips and quotes, the 57-year-old is always good for a highlight.
This time around, it has to do with Gundy and a certain member of his cattle that got a little overly aggressive, and seemed to hurt the coach's "pretty face."
Here is what to know about Gundy's eye injury from a cow's head-butt.

Mike Gundy's cow injury, explained
Gundy was scheduled to hold a press conference on Monday coming off a bye week for Oklahoma State.
As always is the case, the expectation was that Gundy would be doing it live in person. That didn't happen, as Gundy elected to hold a call over Zoom, without showing his face.
The reason? He got "head-butted" by a cow and suffered an eye injury.
"I’ve got a bad eye that I didn’t think would be particularly enjoyable for people when they were looking at my pretty face in a live interview," Gundy explained about why he held the press conference over Zoom.

Gundy did not elaborate on the exact details of what occurred with his cattle. But by his account, it doesn't sound like a simple bump.
"It's full of blood," Gundy added. "I get dizzy, so it's not easy to be upright and do normal functions.
"Other than that, I'm doing great."

The Cowboys are hoping to get back on track with added rest heading into Week 8. Oklahoma State has lost three games in a row, dropping to 3-3 on the season.
Gundy's group can move back over .500, but it won't be easy this weekend. The Cowboys have a date on Friday in Utah as Oklahoma State takes on No. 13 BYU in Big 12 action.
