Michigan vs. Wisconsin: Badgers stall Wolverines' offense, stay undefeated at Camp Randall Stadium image

The No. 5 Wisconsin Badgers stayed undefeated and bolstered a College Football Playoff campaign with a home win over No. 24 Michigan Saturday.

The 24-10 win for the Badgers was sealed after the Wisconsin offense came alive in the second half. Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor finished with 132 yards. Quarterback Alex Hornibrook bounced back from a first-half interception to finish 9 for 19 and 143 yards and a touchdown.

MORE: Three takeaways from Wisconsin's win over Michigan

This matchup featured two of the Big Ten’s best defenses, but the Badgers' defense proved more stout. Michigan made it into the red zone often enough, recording 234 yards of total offense, but lacked the ability to finish and capitalize on opportunities. In the second quarter, quarterback Brandon Peters scrambled on third-and-goal from the 6-yard line and fumbled the ball as he reached out for the goal line.

Peters left the game with two minutes left in the third quarter with a head injury suffered after a brutal hit. Previous starter John O'Korn came in and played the rest of the game. Peters went 9 for 18 and 153 yards. O'Korn went 2 for 8 and 19 yards. The only touchdown for the Wolverines was scored by fullback Ben Mason in the first quarter.

Wisconsin improves to 11-0 with the win, and another win over a ranked opponent might sway the College Football Playoff committee, which ranked the Badgers No. 5 in the latest rankings. Michigan sinks to 8-3 with the loss and is most likely out of contention for the Big Ten East.
