Why Michigan's Devin Bush damaged the Michigan State logo at midfield image

Michigan linebacker Devin Bush was caught kicking and defacing the Michigan State logo at midfield before Saturday's game against the Spartans.

At first, the move can just be seen as Bush being overly emotional before a big rivalry game. Perhaps he's being a little extra, but his teammates could appreciate the passion.

In actuality, there was a reason why Bush reacted the way he did.

Before that incident took place, Michigan State players did their pregame ritual where they walk side-by-side taking up the whole field while walking the distance from end zone to end zone.

Bush was already out on the field for warmups, however, and one would expect the Spartan players to walk around him. Instead, they walked right through him and caused a bit of a scene.

Via the Detroit Free Press:

Both sides exchanged words during the walk and again after MSU's players made their way back across the field toward the stadium tunnel. Bush had to be held back by a few staffers during an exchange between he and some MSU players took place again.

In addition to Bush, the Spartans also reportedly messed with a few other Wolverines players.

According to the Free Press, Michigan State groundskeepers repaired the damage on the field Bush caused.

The pregame antics ended, but don't be surprised if emotions spark back up at some point in the game. Kickoff starts at noon.
