Alabama’s defense rarely is burned for a big play, making Georgia receiver Mecole Hardman’s 80-yard touchdown against the Tide one worth viewing from all angles.
In the College Football Playoff national title game Monday night in Atlanta, Hardman took freshman QB Jake Fromm’s pass in stride, escaped a tackle, then tiptoed down the sideline by the narrowest of margins before racing in for the score.
Before Hardman’s TD, the longest play vs. Alabama this season had been 54 yards.
