Liberty, which is in the process of transitioning from the FCS into the FBS, had never beaten a Big 12 school prior to Saturday night. The victory was the program’s fifth ever over an FBS opponent and first against a team from a Power 5 conference.
Quarterback Stephen Calvert threw for 447 passing yards and three touchdowns in the win.
Liberty entered the game against Baylor as a 34-point underdog.
