The 2023 college football formally got underway last Saturday when Lee Corso put on the North Carolina Tar Heels headgear on ESPN's first "College GameDay" broadcast of the year. This week, the GameDay crew heads to Tuscaloosa.
There are a slew of intriguing matchups on the Saturday docket this week, but there was little doubt the prime-time matchup between No. 3 Alabama and No. 11 Texas would be the headliner. The "College GameDay" crew is at the home of the Crimson Tide yet again, ahead of a game that could be either a turning point for the Longhorns or yet another impressive home win for Nick Saban.
Alabama narrowly defeated Texas in Austin last season, overcoming a sluggish offensive day to knock off the Longhorns. Texas lost QB Quinn Ewers in that game, so a healthy Ewers undoubtedly feels that there is some unfinished business heading into this year's matchup.
The "College GameDay" panel will be making picks for many of the day's big games, but Corso will wear either the longhorn or the elephant when he makes his pick for the game of the week.

Corso is rolling with the Longhorns in the biggest game of Week 2. After Desmond Howard got the crowd up in arms by picking the upset, Corso teased the crowd by playing "Sweet Home Alabama" before switching up and taking Texas.

This is Corso's first Texas pick since 2021, when he incorrectly picked the Longhorns to take down Oklahoma. His last successful Texas pick came all the way back in 2009.
