Lane Kiffin gave us one more awkward moment with the media before he heads out for the offseason.
Kiffin's FAU Owls dominated Akron in winning the Boca Raton Bowl 50-3 at home Tuesday night. Afterward, Kiffin gave a rough interview with ESPN's John Buccigross on "SportsCenter." After struggling to hear through his earpiece, Kiffin deflected questions about his new 10-year contract with FAU, which was announced earlier Tuesday, and talked instead about the program's historic victory. FAU hadn't even made a bowl game since 2008.
BENDER: How far can Lane Kiffin take FAU?
Twitter was mesmerized by the difficult interview.
Lane Kiffin just had the most awkward interview on ESPN. I need to rewatch that.

ESPN what a poor post game interview for Lane Kiffin. I mean you couldn’t do any better than that?

@BarstoolBigCat that Lane Kiffin post game interview was maybe the best thing I’ve seen all year. Not hearing any of the questions but responding regardless with answers that had nothing to do with the question. Plz get him on @PardonMyTake

Lane Kiffin’s post-game interview perfectly represents how I feel before I get tossed to on a live shot. pic.twitter.com/LxVGyq7Oan

Of course, Kiffin is no stranger to awkward on-camera appearances. Before the season, he appeared entirely unenthusiastic in a preseason hype video produced by the team.
