It's well-established Lane Kiffin's departure from Tennessee for USC after the 2009 season left a lot of angry Volunteer fans in his wake.
The vitriol surrounding Kiffin's departure was so bad, in fact, that when he returned to Neyland Stadium for the first time as the Tide's offensive coordinator in 2014, Alabama security considered putting him in a bulletproof vest.

Kiffin, now head coach at Florida Atlantic, recounted his triumphant return to Neyland in a podcast interview with ESPN — thankfully, the anger directed at him pretty much amounted to profanity.
"It’s crazy. They were literally talking about like — from the bus in — a bulletproof vest," Kiffin said on the podcast. "I’m like, ‘Come on, guys. This is football.’ They said, ‘No, really.’ They had security with me the whole way, even walking on the field and stuff like that.
"I’m just like ‘I’m not wearing a vest, guys. All right?’ That’s a little bit over the top. It was all in fun. There was a lot of mean words said — four-letter words. That speaks of Tennessee’s fans, just how passionate they are."

It's worth mentioning Alabama put up 469 yards of total offense in a 34-20 win that season. In Kiffin's three seasons as Alabama's offensive coordinator, the Tide scored a combined 102 points and put up 1,427 yards of offense against the Volunteers.
Somehow, that doesn't make us think they'll forgive him any sooner.
