Here's the catch Hudson made against the Tigers, plus some background on the Trojans receiver.

Who is Kyron Hudson?

Hudson is a redshirt-junior wide receiver at USC. He's spent all three of his previous collegiate seasons with the Trojans.

Hudson is listed at 6-foot-1, 205 pounds on his team roster page. He's from Duarte, Calif., and was a 4-star prospect according to 247Sports coming out of Mater Dei High School.

In real time, Hudson's 24-yard catch was difficult to process. It wasn't just a one-handed grab — Hudson was leaning backward over two defensive backs, reached back, and somehow completed the play.

Hudson's former Heisman quarterback, Caleb Williams, gave him a shoutout for the catch as well, calling him "insane."

USC's team account provided a slow-motion look at Hudson's impressive catch.

Officials quickly called for a review, and while some angles make it look as if the ball hit the ground, it was ruled that Hudson got his arm underneath the ball to secure it just enough before it made contact with the turf.

That wasn't the only impressive grab that Hudson made on Sunday night. In fact, it wasn't even the only one-handed snag he made. With the clock dwindling towards 0:00 and the game tied at 20, Hudson reached out and touched faith, using his left mitt to reel in Miller Moss' unruly effort. Hudson was met with a crunching shot that was ruled targeting after review.

Still, he maintained his composure, making the catch to put the Trojans in prime scoring position. One play later, USC scored a last-second touchdown.

Kyron Hudson stats

Hudson had a career-high 189 receiving yards in 2023 along with two touchdowns. Here's a look at his stats from his last two seasons with USC.

He appeared in just one game in 2021 as a first-year freshman, catching two passes for four yards.

Hudson doesn't have big-time numbers with USC so far, but after a catch like he made Sunday, he could certainly become a go-to threat in the near future. In the first half against LSU, Hudson totaled two catches for 33 yards.
