Dan Mullen's first loss as Florida's head coach was one of the biggest wins in Kentucky football history.

The Wildcats upset the Gators in The Swamp 27-16 on Saturday, ending the nation's longest losing streak between two teams at 31 games. The run lasted through eight Florida coaches. Kentucky had come achingly close to ending the streak at times, losing three of its last four games in the series by a combined 12 points.

All that ended Saturday as sophomore quarterback Terry Wilson led the Wildcats to the victory, completing 11 of 16 passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. He also rushed 10 times for 105 yards and another touchdown. Running back Benny Snell contributed as well, rushing for 175 yards on 27 carries.

Florida quarterback Feleipe Franks, meanwhile, completed 17 of 38 passes for 232 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.

Wilson got the Wildcats on the board first in the first quarter with a 29-yard touchdown connection with David Bouvier. Florida responded with a 29-yard field goal from Evan McPherson and an 18-yard touchdown connection between Franks and Moral Stephens in the second quarter. Kentucky took the final lead of the game in the third quarter, with Wilson scoring on a 24-yard run to make it 14-10. A 54-yard touchdown connection to Lynn Bowden Jr. made it 21-10.

Franks managed to cut the deficit to 21-16 with 3:34 remaining in the game when he threw a 4-yard touchdown to Freddie Swain. The Gators had a chance to take the lead on the final drive of the game, but Franks fumbled with fewer than 30 seconds remaining. Kent Davonte Robinson recovered the fumble and returned it for a defensive touchdown to give UK its final margin of victory.
