The SEC arms race for the 2020 season continued Monday when five-star running back Kendall Milton announced his commitment to Georgia over in-conference powerhouses Alabama and LSU and Big Ten juggernaut Ohio State.
“I’m very excited about my decision and feel really good about Georgia,” Milton said (via 247Sports). “I knew on my official visit to Georgia that I found a home and that was the place for me. I took a lot of visits, unofficial and official and the vibe I had at Georgia was like no other place I visited.
“All my visits were great, don’t get me wrong, but Georgia was special. Georgia had everything I was looking for in a school, all the factors that were most important to me, they had. Everything just felt right to me when I was there and I know this is the best decision for me.”

Milton, a 6-2, 220-pound back from Fresno, California, is the fourth-ranked back in the 2020 class and the 22nd-ranked prospect overall in the country.
It’s easy to envision Milton making an impact on any college program in the nation, but he said Monday his decision was all about making it to the NFL — something Georgia has a knack for with running backs.
“(Running backs coach Dell McGee) knows how to develop running backs and get them to the league (NFL),” Milton said. “He has a great reputation and his guys always produce, not just in college but in the NFL too.”
Notable Georgia running backs currently starring for NFL teams include the Browns' Nick Chubb and a pair of stars from Super Bowl 53 — New England's Sony Michel and L.A. Rams star Todd Gurley.
Milton is the third five-star recruit to sign on with Georgia’s 2020 class, joining linebacker Mekhail Sherman from Washington D.C. and offensive lineman Broderick Jones from nearby Lithonia, Georgia.
According to 247Sports, Georgia has the fifth-ranked 2020 class, while SEC rivals Alabama and Georgia are ranked second and third, respectively.
Clemson at No. 1 and Ohio State at No. 4 complete the top five recruiting classes for 2020.
