Waddle — a first-team SN Preseason All-American — was tackled by Tennessee's Kenneth George Jr., who rolled Waddle's right ankle on the play. The star receiver seemed frustrated on the field before limping off. He was taken into the locker room on a cart; he also smacked his leg in frustration while being carted off.

Waddle was Alabama's leading receiver through four games. He entered Saturday's game with 25 catches for 557 yards and four scores. He had more than 120 receiving yards in each of Alabama's first four games, and he scored a 90-yard touchdown in last week's victory against Georgia.
The CBS telecast showed Waddle being loaded into the back of an ambulance near the end of the first quarter. It is a tremendous blow to the Crimson Tide offense for the remainder of the 2020 season.
