Jayden Daniels was putting on the superman cape for LSU in the clash against Alabama. But a big hit in the fourth quarter knocked the star quarterback out of the game.
Daniels was hit hard in the head by Alabama linebacker Dallas Turner, and though he tried to come back in for a play after the hit, he was pulled out after his first play back and did not return to the game.
The standout quarterback, who had found himself in the Heisman Trophy conversation, had been putting together another dynamic performance against the Crimson Tide, despite his team trailing. Daniels completed 15-of-25 passes for 219 yards with two touchdowns and a tipped ball interception, and had rushed 11 times for a whopping 163 yards and another score.

Jayden Daniels injury update
CBS Sports' Jenny Dell reported Daniels was placed in concussion protocol, and confirmed he would miss the remainder of the game.
Daniels was injured early in the fourth quarter against the Crimson Tide. He attempted a pass to Malik Nabers but was hit hard by Turner, drawing a roughing the passer penalty. The play was not reviewed for targeting.
"The quarterback in that position is defenseless by definition. So forceable contact initiated to the head and neck area could potentially lead to targeting."
