"Hard Knocks" meets college football. It's not a thing, at least not yet.
HBO has partnered up with NFL Films to present the all-access show chronicling various football teams over the past 14 years and now plans to bring various college football programs into the mix.
According to a report from ESPN, the network is currently in negotiations with four universities — Alabama, Arizona State, Penn State and Washington State — to create another behind-the-scenes show this season.
The structure of the show has not been finalized, ESPN noted, but the schools involved have discussed allowing cameras to follow each program for a week at a time.
"As we do with all opportunities we feel can enhance our program, we are exploring the prospect of working on this project with the appropriate officials from all parties involved," Penn State said in a statement.
HBO has made no formal announcement at this time, the report added.
