Coming off their second straight national championship this season, the Georgia Bulldogs are once against hoping to not rebuild, but reload.

Stetson Bennett has graduated, several big defensive players are going to be drafted high, and yet it's hard to bet against Kirby Smart's Bulldogs in the SEC East, the SEC in general, or -- indeed -- the country.

We'll be getting our first look at the next version of Georgia football Saturday, as Georgia's annual "G-Day" takes place. Carson Beck, Brock Vandagriff, and Gunner Stockton are all looking to make their mark on the quarterback position in red and black. This will be a big stage to make a statement on.

As added incentive, the afternoon also will feature a different kind of handoff, as longtime mascot Uga X steps down and hands the collar to his 10-month-old replacement, Uga XI, just before kickoff.

Georgia's spring game is open to the public and it will be broadcast on ESPN2, one of the few programs to have its spring game broadcast.

What to watch in Georgia spring game

The quarterback competition is going to grab the most attention, with Beck, Vandagriff, and Stockton competing for the role. The most drama-free option would be Beck, who played against Bennett as quarterback of the red team last season. Bennett's squad edged out Beck's, winning 26-23.

Georgia's second-ranked recruiting class features five-stars such as Damon Wilson, Raylen Wilson, Monroe Freeling, Joenel Aguero, and Jordan Hall. Transfers include players like Rara Thomas and Dominic Lovett, from Mississippi State and Missouri, respectively.

With that being said, it all comes back to QB. Without a clear incumbent, the spot is ostensibly wide open. That's huge when it comes to taking over a program with the history of success Georgia does.
