Former Georgia and Miami coach Mark Richt suffered a heart attack Monday morning but said he is "doing fine."
Richt said in a tweet sent shortly before noon ET that he plans to be back at work as an analyst at ACC Network this weekend.
I am assuming word travels fast. So I wanted to be able to inform everyone that I did have a heart attack this morning. I am doing fine. As I went through the experience I had peace knowing I was going to heaven but I was going to miss my wife. I plan to be at work this week.

"I am doing fine," he wrote, in part. "As I went through the experience I had peace knowing I was going to heaven but I was going to miss my wife."
Richt, 59, retired from coaching after last season, his third at Miami. He went 26-13 at his alma mater after leading Georgia back to prominence during his 15 years in Athens. His career record is 145-51.
He played quarterback at Miami from 1979-82 before moving into coaching, serving as an assistant at East Carolina and Florida State before landing the Georgia job heading into the 2001 season.
Richt signed on with the ACC Network as a studio analyst in April.
