A change is going to come.

The College Football Playoff national championship game has found itself on an ever-moving carousel, cycling through different locations with wholly different climates since its 2014 inception.

If you build it, they will come. And given the CFP championship's popularity — it draws tens of millions of viewers every season — it's understandable that cities aren't paying hand over fist to get a piece of that action.

Whether it's sparkling new arenas or longstanding relics of the past, everyone — from city officials to sponsors — yearns for a taste of that sweet CFP revenue. The powers that be have been more than willing to oblige over the years.

The 2023 edition will be held at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, but what's next for one of the marquee events in U.S. sports? Here's a look at some of the spots tipped to host upcoming CFP championship games:

Future CFP title game locations

Year CFP title game site
2024 NRG Stadium, Houston, Tex.
2025 Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, Nev.
2026 Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Fla.

CFP title game 2024: Houston

The 2024 national championship game will be hosted at NRG Stadium. Although it doesn't quite earn the same attention as its billion-dollar neighbor, AT&T Stadium, the Texans' home is familiar with major sporting events.

Besides its primary tenant, NRG also holds such esteemed competitions as the Texas Bowl and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. In 2026, the booming metropolis of a facility will serve as one of the host sites for the World Cup.

CFP title game 2025: Las Vegas

Viva Las Vegas.

A year after hosting the Super Bowl, Allegiant Stadium will hold the CFP title game in 2025. The home of the Raiders, Allegiant Stadium opened in July 2020 ahead of the NFL side's move to the Sin City. Currently, it ranks as the second-most expensive sports stadium ever built ($1.9 billion), trailing SoFi Stadium.

The domed stadium can hold up to 71,835 people and has already played host to a number of major sporting events, including the 2021 Pac-12 Championship, the Las Vegas Bowl, the 2022 Pro Bowl and the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final.

CFP title game 2026: Miami

One of college football's favorite sites is handling host responsibilities for the 2026 CFP national championship. Hard Rock Stadium was plucked to be the host site of the 2026 college football title game.

Completed in 1987, by day the stadium serves as the home of the NFL's Miami Dolphins. However, it has also served as the site of the Orange Bowl, one of college football's preeminent competitions.

The booming colosseum has hosted six national championships, most recently the CFP title game in 2021.
