Deondre Francois' football journey will go on in Florida.
According to 247Sports, the former Florida State quarterback will walk on at Florida Atlantic this season and play for Owls coach Lane Kiffin.
Francois, who was dismissed from FSU in February after allegedly threatening his girlfriend in a video posted to Instagram, has two years of eligibility remaining.
"I put myself in a terrible situation," Francois told 247Sports. "I’ve learned from it. I take full responsibility of everything that happened.
"I take full responsibility for my actions. I just want to learn from it and grow from it. That won’t happen again. This has impacted my life far more than anyone can imagine. It helped me grow as a man and I’m ready to embark on new beginnings."
Francois visited the FAU campus earlier this year for the team’s first spring practice and will now join returning starter Chris Robison and redshirt freshman Cordel Littlejohn on the depth chart.
"Means the world to me to get another opportunity to play football again," Francois said. "Just the situations that have happened with me off the field, I feel like I could have avoided those situations being around the right people and having the right people around me. I feel FAU has the right supporting cast. When I went down for a visit it was very family-oriented and something new for me."
Francois, 22, led the Seminoles to a 10-3 record in 2016 but tore his ACL in the first game of the following season and missed the rest of the year. He's made 25 starts in three seasons with FSU, but missed 13 games due to injury.
He completed 57.1 percent of his passes as he threw for 15 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 11 games last season.
