Wear and tear system

As explained in the video, "Wear and tear is a progressive health system that prioritizes strategic substitutions and diverse playcalling to keep your players healthy."

Like in real football, the players in EA Sports College Football 25 are impacted by the hits they take throughout the game. If a QB were to take a hit to their throwing arm, their performance would be impacted. Similarly, a heavy workload for an RB would cause his performance to taper off as the game progressed.

Different hits have different impacts on players throughout a game. In addition to damage from hits, fatigue also plays a factor in players' performances.

Whether it's a single-game situation or Dynasty mode, which spans multiple seasons, the management of wear and tear is a critical part of team success.

Player abilities

EA's College Football 25 features a wide range of mental and physical player abilities designed to create separation between highly skilled players and freshmen who lack experience on the field.

"In contrast to the pros where superstar talent is generally balanced across the league, the player abilities in college were designed to showcase the overall discrepancy in player and team skill levels," the trailer explains.

Naturally, physical abilities boost attributes and provide protection from wear and tear. Mental abilities allow players to remain largely unfazed in high-leverage situations, such as a crucial fourth-down conversion on the road.

Players can have up to eight abilities. Each ability scales in effectiveness.

Homefield advantage

A familiar feature from college football titles of years past, the homefield advantage feature gives the upper hand to teams playing the game on their own turf.

From Death Valley in Baton Rouge, La. to Happy Valley in State College, Penn., home crowds can impact their opposition's confidence and composure levels. With more momentum comes an increased crowd pulse, causing the screen to shake and disorient players with lower composure.

Unique playbooks

Each of the 134 FBS teams in the game has a unique playbook that reflects the style of their real-life counterpart. The video shows Oklahoma's wide splits, Air Force's triple option and Michigan's run game offenses.

Gameplay features

Among other notable gameplay features are new user reverse handoffs, a new option game, a new set of trick plays and a revamped passing game that focuses on passer timing and mechanics.
