In the inaugural Duke's Mayo Bowl last season, fans expected to see a mayo bath instead of an energy drink bath at the end of the game.
Well, everyone was disappointed when the normal Gatorade containers splashed over Wisconsin head coach Paul Chryst after the Badgers beat Wake Forest. There is hope for a mayo bath for this year's Duke's Mayo Bowl between North Carolina and South Carolina, though.
On Sunday, Duke’s Mayo Bowl executive director Danny Morrison spoke in a video apologizing for the disappointment last year, and he added how the winning team could endure a mayo bath this year: the winning team must dump the mayo on their coach, and then $10,000 will be donated to the charity of the team's choice.

So, it sounds like the mayo bath is completely up to the winning team this year. Last year, Duke Mayo Bowl's Twitter enticed viewers by posting a bucket of mayo, even though they never used it to dump on the winning coach. This post proves that the mayo bath is possible, the winning team just needs to act on it.

Neither the Tarheels nor the Gamecocks have responded yet to Morrison's request. But, it seems like their answers might not become public until after the bowl game in order to keep the element of surprise.
If UNC wins the Duke's Mayo Bowl, you will potentially see head coach Mack Brown be the victim of the mayo bath. Or, if South Carolina wins, you will potentially see head coach Shane Beamer covered in Duke's mayo.
