One of Alabama football's favorite sons — and its most recent vanquisher — is making a return to Tuscaloosa on Saturday.
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney will reportedly attend the Crimson Tide's 25th anniversary celebration of its 1992 national title team, set to take place during Alabama's homecoming game against Arkansas. Swinney was a walk-on receiver on that team, which won the program's last title before Nick Saban's 2009 squad won the 2010 BCS championship.

MORE: Swinney is Clemson's coach, not Saban's successor
Of course, the obvious elephant in the room is that Swinney's Tigers beat Alabama 35-31 in the 2017 College Football Playoff national title game. He nearly beat them in their first national title matchup in 2016, though Alabama prevailed 45-40.
Regardless, that shouldn't be a problem for the Bama fans in attendance. Swinney was born in Birmingham, and later coached Alabama as an assistant from 1993-2000. His success as a head coach has only further endeared him to fans of his alma mater, and many have considered him the only choice to take over for Saban upon the latter's retirement.
Swinney, of course, has made his own way at Clemson, but one thing's for certain: Saturday in Bryant-Denny is going to be an interesting place to be.
