The set of ESPN's popular morning show, "College GameDay," unfolds on Georgia's campus on Saturday for a ranked matchup between top-10 teams when No. 7 Notre Dame comes to face off against Kirby Smart's team.
The orange and black trailer will roll up to Myers Quad, a popular tailgating destination just outside of Sanford Stadium.
The decision to come watch the Bulldogs take on the Fighting Irish seemed a logical choice for the Saturday morning show to host its show since it is the only matchup of top-10 teams taking place in Week 4. There are other ranked matchups this weekend, however, with No. 13 Wisconsin hosting Big Ten rival No. 11 Michigan and No. 17 Texas A&M hosting No. 8 Auburn.
WEEK 4 PICKS: Straight up | Against the spread
Georgia will face its first ranked team of the season when it faces Notre Dame, but it will certainly not be the last one. The Bulldogs will travel to Gainesville on Nov. 2 for a matchup against No. 9 Florida. Then two of its final three games of the regular season will come against ranked teams, facing No. 8 Auburn on Nov. 16 and No. 17 Texas A&M on Nov. 23. Georgia will travel to both Auburn and Florida, and it will host the Aggies.
Notre Dame will also face its fair share of ranked teams this season, but Georgia will be the first one on its slate. Next week, Notre Dame will host No. 21 UVA. On Oct. 26, it will travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan, to face No. 11 Michigan.
Both teams figure to be in the playoff picture after they have made one appearance in the past two seasons. Georgia went to the National Championship game in 2018 and lost to fourth-ranked Alabama. Notre Dame made an appearance for the first time last year and lost in the Cotton Bowl to eventual national champ Clemson. For either team, a win on Saturday would mark a strong entry to their respective CFP resume when the committee is evaluating teams at the end of the year.
