It's not Rivalry Week, but there are plenty of rubber matches on the slate for Week 8 of college football. 

The noon ET slot of games pits Big 12 foes Texas (3-3, 2-1) and No. 10 Oklahoma St. (5-1, 2-1). At 3:30 p.m. ET, fans will be treated to an ACC showdown between Syracuse (4-3. 2-1), which knocked off then second-ranked and defending national champion Clemson (6-1) last week, and No. 8 MIami (5-0). Tennessee (3-3, 0-3) will try to do the unthinkable and knock off No. 1 Alabama (7-0) at the same time.  

The nightcap features No. 2 Penn State (6-0), led by Heisman trophy candidate Saquon Barkley, hosting No. 19 Michigan (5-1). Oh, yeah if you haven't read Bill Bender's epic feature on the Nittany Lions' and Wolverines' history. Stop whatever you're doing and check it out right now.  Then, there's a litte affair between No. 13  Notre Dame (5-1) and USC (6-1, 4-1) in South Bend, Ind. Both games kick off at 7:30 p.m.

10:47 p.m. —  No no! Don't go that way! Wait — wait. Oh, nevermind. Do your thing.

10:44 p.m. —  Trace McSorley has the hat trick for rushing touchdowns to put Penn State up 42-13:

10:21 p.m. — Dare we ask: Is Khalil Tate the best quarterback in the Pac-12?

10: 20 p.m. — Congrats Royce Freeman!

10:19 p.m. —  He stole it right from his hands! What a pick.

10:12 p.m. —  We are not seeing a USC comeback tonight.

10:09 p.m. —  It doesn't get any easier than this. Are we seeing the beginning of a huge comeback?

10:07 p.m. —  At least it's not a shutout, USC.

9:56 p.m. —  SMU won 31-28. You need a better play than this to end the game.

9:36 p.m. —  Derrius Guice opens up the second half with a 46-yard run and goes over 200 yards on just 14 carries.

9:26 p.m. —  Oh hey there Derrius Guice! Long time no see.

9:05 p.m. —  This game is over, and it's not even halftime.

8:55 p.m. —  Sam Darnold's going to have to clean this up if he wants to lead USC to a comeback.

8:51 p.m. —  Notre Dame up 21-0 over USC, wow.

8:47 p.m. —  Oh no indeed. This led to a Notre Dame touchdown. The Irish currently lead 21-0.

8:33 p.m. —  You didn't think Michigan was going to go away that easy, did you?

8:22 p.m. —  That's a play we haven't seen in a long, long time. ...

8:12 p.m. —  What a run with seconds remaining! Rodney Anderson's 22-yard touchdown gives Oklahoma the 42-35 win!

7:59 p.m. — Touchdown No. 2 for Saquon Barkley! This one comes from 15 yards out.

7:57 p.m. —  Notre Dame strikes first against USC. Brandon Wimbush is pretty good throwing the ball as well:

7:45 p.m. —  That. Was. Fast.

7;20 p.m. —  That's not good for Oklahoma. K-State went on to score after this, by the way. Thankfully for the Sooners, the offense would score later to make it 35-28.

7:10 p.m. —  Miami's not trying to run the clock out. They want to win! This may help a bit. 

6:51 p.m. —  He could have got in untouched. But he clearly wanted to give him a shot before getting the score.

6:37 p.m. —  Perhaps this hurdle wasn't  entirely  necessary, but it sure was fun to watch:

6:28 p.m. —  Remember, this is Alabama's BACKUP quarterback. Tua Tagovailoa has the jets.

6:21 p.m. —  One word: Ow.

6:06 p.m. —  Kinda hard to win football games when you're just giving turnovers away like that:

6:04 p.m. —  Hey, when you go 12 straight quarters without a touchdown you probably have some pent-up frustrations.

5:44 p.m. —  That's quite an impressive catch.

5:30 p.m. —  Kansas State playing the Sooners tough. They get a touchdown out of an ... interesting formation.

5:07 p.m. ET —The rout is on in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Alabama running back Damien Harris registers the Crimson Tide's third runshing touchdown of the day it builds a 21-0 lead with 1:18 to play before the half. 

4:07 p.m. ET— FAT GUY (Excuse us. We mean "Big-boned") touchdown! Virginia Tech defensive lineman Ricky Walker winds up in the end zone after collecting a North Carolina fumble and rumbling 12 yards into the end zone. The Hokies are up 7-0 with 4:53 to play in the first quarter. 

3:34 p.m. ET— All Texas freshman Sam Ehlinger had to do was throw the ball away so the Longhorns could line up and kick a  field goal on fourth down to keep their upset hopes against No. 10 Oklahoma State. Instead, he did this and UT falls 13-10 in overtime. 

3:34 p.m. ET —Louisville snaps a two-game losing streak and drops Florida State's record to 2-4 with a game-winning 34-yard field goal from Blanton Creque to walk out of Doak Campbell Stadium with a 31-28 victory. 

3:24 p.m. ET —Army ties Temple at 28-28 on a last-second touchdown pass from quarterback Kelvin Hopkins Jermaine Adams in regulation to force overtime. 

2:48 p.m. ET —Florida State quarterback James Blackman hooks up with wide receiver Nyqwan Murray for a 20-yard touchdown pass to tie the up the Seminoles matchup against Louisville at 28-28 with 8:58 to play. 

2:47 p.m. ET —Pitt's Darrin Hall is having himself a day. He adds a 92-yard touchdown run to go along with a 79-yard score earlier in the game to pull his Panthers to within three at 17-14 with 10 seconds left in the third quarter. 

2:33 p.m. ET —Florida State's Nyqwan Murray dives on a Jacques Patrick fumble in the end zone for a touchdown and the Seminoles pull to within a score at 28-21 with 13:21 remaining at home against Louisville. 

2:15 p.m. ET— Duke quarterback Daniel Jones links up with running back Shaun Wilson for a 58-yard score to put the Blue Devils ahead 10-7 with 8:33 to play in the third quarter agaisnt Pitt. 

2:07 p.m. ET —Reggie Bonnafon scored from two yards away to put Louisville ahead 21-14 with 7:04 left in the third, but this ridiculous Lamar Jackson run set it up. 

1:50 p.m. ET —Talk about wide open. There was no one in Wisconsin's Zander Neuville's zip code on this Alex Hornibrook 8-yard touchdown pass. The Badgers are up 21-3 against Maryland with 32 seconds before halftime. 

1:26 p.m. ET— Iowa State quarterback Kyle Kempt finds Matthew Eaton for a 4-yard touchdown to put the Cyclones ahead 17-6 against Texas Tech with 10:40 left in the second quarter. 

1:18 p.m. ET —Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson shows off his pinpoint precision and touch when he finds Seth Dawkins for a 26-yard touchdown pass to even the game at 14-14 at the 1:04 mark of the second quarter. Look at the flick of the wrist!

1:15 p.m. ET —Wisconsin's Jonathan Taylor totes one in from three yards out and the Badgers lead Maryland 14-3 with 10:02 left in the second quarter. 

1:08 p.m. ET —Scoop. Score. Florida State linebacker Matthew Thomas collects a Lamar Jackson fumble to put the Seminoles ahead 14-7 with 4:08 to go in the second quarter. 

1:07 p.m. ET —Purdue is out here faking flea flickers. Boilermaker running back D.J. Knox goes up the middle for a huge gainer against Rutgers.

12:59 p.m. ET —Texas evens its game with tenth-ranked Oklahoma State at 7-7 on a 2-yard TD plunge from Sam Ehlinger with 13:59 to play before halftime. 

12:55 p.m. ET— Pitt's Darrin Hall record's the Panthers' longest run since 2010 on this 79-yard scamper to put his team up 7-0 against Duke with 7:23 still to play in the first quarter. Also, nice block from the ref to break the play open. 

 

12:31 p.m. ET —Oklahoma State running back J.D. King goes seven yards off tackle to get the Cowboys in the end zone. No. 10 OSU leads Texas 7-0 with 4:51 remaining in the first quarter. 

12:27 p.m. ET —Florida State quarterback James Blackman answers the Cardinals' score with this touchdown pass to tight end Anthony Rizzo. The Seminoles and Louisville are tied at 7-7 with 6:30 still to play in the first quarter. 

12:22 p.m. ET —Wisconsin's T.J. Edwards gets the No. 5 Badgers on the board first when TJ Edwards picks off a Maryland pass and returns it 54 yards for a score with 12:18 to go in the first quarter. 

12:15 p.m. ET —Rutgers running back Gus Edwards broke Purdue off with this 74-yard TD early. The Scarlet Knights lead the Boilermakers 7-0 with 12:23 remaining in the first quarter. 

12:11 p.m. ET —Just. Like. That. Reinging Heisman trophy winner Lamar Jackson dashes through Florida State's defense for a 22-yard touchdown run to put the Cardinals ahead 7-0 with 11:37 remaining in the first quarter.
