College football's Week 5 slate of games will separate the contenders from the pretenders (although Week 4 did a pretty good job of that as well).
This week features two matchups between top-25 teams, both of which take place in the SEC. That starts at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday when No. 13 Texas A&M visits second-ranked Alabama. Jimbo Fisher's Aggies struggled on offense in a 17-12 victory over Vanderbilt on Saturday, while Alabama predictably handled Missouri 38-19.
The second of those top-25 games is this week's "College GameDay" matchup: No. 7 Auburn at No. 4 Georgia. The Bulldogs struggled early against Arkansas as they tried to find someone who could stick at quarterback; Auburn has no such issues with Bo Nix, but who knows what can happen in the "Deep South's Oldest Rivalry."
Elsewhere, No. 18 Oklahoma and No. 20 LSU will try to get back on track against Iowa State and Vanderbilt, respectively, after suffering stunning upsets in Week 4. Speaking of which, No. 16 Mississippi State — fresh off its 44-34 destruction of LSU — will play its first game as a ranked team since Jan. 1, 2019 on Saturday when it takes on the Razorbacks.
