The slow burn leading up to college football season begins to pick up the pace on Thursday.

After small slate of games wet the palates of fans in Week 0, a handful Thursday night matchups will kick off what could be a wild Week 1 in college football.

Florida's narrow win over Utah was one of the highlights of last season's Week 1 schedule, helping Anthony Richardson announce himself to college football fans and NFL scouts. The Gators and Utes renew their series in Salt Lake City on Thursday night, with Utah favored but the status of QB Cameron Rising still uncertain.

Seven other Power Five teams start their season on Thursday night, including UCF's first game as a Big 12 program.
