Owen Pappoe commits to Auburn; Tigers beat Georgia for five-star LB image

Auburn earned a big win over rival Georgia on Tuesday with the commitment of five-star 2019 linebacker Owen Pappoe to the Tigers.

Pappoe, from Grayson, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta, is ranked eighth overall nationally and No. 1 among outside linebackers in the Class of '19, per AL.com. He said he had decided on the Tigers over the Bulldogs "three months ago," per 247Sports.com.

"It's a school I felt really comfortable with," Pappoe said, per 247Sports. "It's a school I think I can come in really quick and and make an immediate impact with on the field."

Pappoe also cited the relationship he has developed with Auburn linebackers coach Travis Williams.

"With him it's more than football," Pappoe said, per 247Sports. "He cares about me as a person and cares about developing me as a man in the future."

Pappoe, who is listed at 6-0 1/2 and 207 pounds, is the sixth player to commit to the Tigers' 2019 class, per 247Sports. His recruitment also included Alabama, Clemson, Tennessee and Florida State, per 247Sports.
