A late collapse against Ohio State on Saturday night punished Penn State's College Football Playoff hopes.
The Nittany Lions fell to No. 7 after the shocking loss in Columbus, while the Buckeyes rose to No. 3. Undefeated Georgia and Alabama reign supreme at No. 1 and 2, with Wisconsin also undefeated and sitting at No. 4. Notre Dame claimed a statement win over N.C. State on Saturday and rose to No. 5 in the AP Top 25.
After losing to Iowa State in the biggest upset of the weekend, TCU dropped from No. 4 to No. 10. Iowa State rose to No. 14 in the AP Poll with the win and has claimed two huge upset wins this season over TCU and Oklahoma.
West Virginia dropped out of the rankings this week after losing at home to No. 10 Oklahoma State. Mississippi State enters the rankings this week at No. 21, having recorded a win Saturday over Texas A&M.
With the addition of Mississippi State to the rankings, the SEC and Pac-12 represent the most teams in this week's AP Poll with five each. In the Coaches Poll, only four Pac-12 teams are represented. The ACC, Big Ten and Big 12 each have four teams in the rankings.
