The College Football Playoff selection committee will have to wait an extra couple hours to unveil its second set of rankings following the latest slate of games.
The 2021 Champions Classic — which features some of the top basketball teams in the country in No. 3 Kansas, No. 9 Duke, No. 10 Kentucky and Michigan State — will take priority on ESPN before the ranking show airs. So, for those of you reading this on Tuesday night:

The selection committee turned heads with its first set of rankings on Nov. 2, but could make an even bigger wave after a wild Week 10 slate that saw several top-10 teams play well below their potential.
Apart from Georgia, which should maintain its status as the top team in the country, no team with realistic expectations to make the Playoff played particularly well on Saturday. No. 2 Alabama barely won against LSU after coming off a bye week to prepare; No. 3 Michigan State lost a stunner to the Purdue "Spoilermakers;" No. 4 Oregon survived an early scare from Washington to win 26-16; No. 5 Ohio State looked ho-hum in a win over Nebraska; No. 6 Cincinnati barely survived Tulsa; and No. 9 Wake Forest lost its first game of the season to North Carolina and Sam Howell.
No. 7 Michigan took care of business against Indiana in a 27-9 win, but still needs help to make the Big Ten championship game after its Week 9 loss to Michigan State. No. 8 Oklahoma was idle, but is still in control of its destiny as a potential unbeaten Power 5 conference champion. No. 10 Notre Dame took care of business as well, but is likely on the outside looking in without a conference championship game to rely on.

CFP rankings schedule 2021
The College Football Playoff selection show is scheduled to air at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, though the exact timing depends on the final buzzer in the first game of the Champions Classic, which is also carried on ESPN. Once No. 3 Kansas vs. Michigan State concludes, the CFP show will air while No. 9 Duke prepares to take on No. 10 Kentucky.
Each ensuing show will air on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. ET. The CFP selection show will take place on Sunday, Dec. 5 — the day following conference championship games — at noon ET.

Sporting News projects the top four teams in the second set of rankings will be No. 1 Georgia, No. 2 Alabama, No. 3 Oklahoma and No. 4 Cincinnati. The first two teams out are projected to be No. 5 Oregon (8-1) and No. 6 Ohio State (8-1).
