College football is bringing a postseason bowl game to the Red Sox's iconic ballpark in the form of the Fenway Bowl, Fenway Sports Management confirmed Monday (via MassLive.com).

Teams from the ACC and American Athletic Conference will meet at the century-old baseball stadium beginning in 2020.

The ballpark, home to the Red Sox since 1912, has been the site of football games dating back to the early 1900s. Most recently, it served as the site of a Notre Dame-Boston College matchup in 2015 in the first football game at Fenway in almost a half-century as well as a three-game "Fenway Series" in 2017 featuring Brown vs. Dartmouth, Massachusetts vs. Maine and UConn vs. BC and "The Game" between Harvard and Yale last year.

The ballpark also was home for a time to the Boston Patriots of the American Football League in the 1960s.

There are 40 postseason games scheduled for after the 2019 FBS regular season in the FCS, including the CFP National Championship. Three more bowls reportedly have been proposed, though not approved yet, for after the 2020 season.

Fenway Sports Management is a global sports marketing firm that specializes in partnership sales, consulting and the creation of "unique and memorable events and experiences," according to its website.

FSM is a part of a portfolio of properties that includes the Red Sox, Liverpool FC, regional sports net NESN and Roush Fenway Racing in NASCAR.
