Weis was hired by Kiffin before the start of the 2017 season as the Owls' tight ends coach. He left the position a month after his hiring to become an offensive analyst for the NFL's Atlanta Falcons, whose season ended Saturday in a divisional round loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He had previously served as an offensive analyst for Alabama in 2015 and '16.
With his hiring, Weis takes over an offense that finished ninth nationally in yards per game (498) and eighth in points scored (40.6 points per game) in 2017.
