Baylor starting quarterback Charlie Brewer has been ruled out for the rest of Saturday's Big 12 Championship game against Oklahoma after leaving the field in the first half with what appeared to be a head injury.

After taking a hard hit early in the second quarter, Brewer came up wobbly and needed assistance from his teammates in order to maintain his balance.

Brewer remained in the game following that drive, but officials later spoke with Baylor coach Matt Rhule to recommend he receive a closer look on the sideline. Backup Gerry Bohanon stepped in, finishing the first half 3 of 11 through the air for 58 yards and one touchdown. He helped guide the Bears to a 13-10 lead heading into halftime.

A junior out of Austin, Texas, Brewer entered the game with 2,935 yards passing with 20 touchdowns and six interception. Bohanon had only thrown 21 passes this season prior to Saturday's contest.
