Georgia tight end Brock Bowers left Saturday’s game with an ankle injury against Vanderbilt on Saturday.

Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart told the CBS telecast that the Bulldogs tight end has an ankle sprain and will get X-rays.

"He was good," Smart said on the telecast. "He was in good spirits. He has a little bit of an ankle sprain on the bottom part of his foot. He think he’ll be fine. They’re going to go X-Ray it and check it out."

Bowers exited the game with 7:07 left in the second quarter. He was checked out by trainers before heading for the tunnel. The junior tight end had two catches for 11 yards in the first half against the Commodores.

Bowers is the focal point of a Georgia offense that leads the conference in passing yards with quarterback Carson Beck. Bowers entered week 7 with 37 catches for 545 yards and four TDs, which led all FBS tight ends and put him in the Heisman Trophy conversation.

Georgia has a bye week in Week 8, so Bowers would have time to heal before the rivalry matchup with Florida on Oct. 28.
