It's official — the Arch Manning era has begun.
Texas boasts arguably the deepest quarterback room at the college level. Between Manning and star QB Quinn Ewers, head coach Steve Sarkisian has plenty of options at his disposal to lead the Longhorns on offense.
Both Manning and Ewers have made appearances this season, but for this weekend, there is going to be a new starter at the helm for Texas in the game against the University of Louisiana-Monroe.

Is Arch Manning starting this week?
Steve Sarkisian officially announced on Thursday that Manning would be the starting quarterback for the Longhorns this weekend in their matchup against the University of Louisiana-Monroe.

It marks the first start in Manning's college career.
Quinn Ewers injury
The decision isn't a complete surprise after starting QB Quinn Ewers was injured during the team's contest last weekend against UTSA.
Ewers left the game about three minutes into the second quarter. The Texas star appeared to have tweaked something while attempting a pass to tight end Gunnar Helm and then fell to the turf after handing the ball off to tailback Quintrevion Wisner on the next play.

Sarkisian confirmed that Ewers will miss the game this weekend, but is expected to have a quick turnaround with his abdominal injury.
How old is Arch Manning?
Born on April 27, 2005, Manning is 19 years old.

Manning is a redshirt freshman with the Longhorns this year, in his second season in the NCAA.
Since he is only in his second year removed from high school, he is not eligible for the 2025 NFL Draft. The earliest he is eligible to go pro is in 2026.
Arch Manning stats 2024
The sample size is small, but Manning is off to a blazing start in 2024.
After seeing very limited playing time last year (two completions on five attempts for 30 yards), Manning has seen game action twice already in 2024. He came in during the Longhorns' blowout of Colorado State to start the season, and relieved Ewers last week against UTSA when the quarterback was hurt.
