For the first time in the College Football Playoff era, one of the final teams will not done crimson and white and hail from Tuscaloosa, Ala.
That's thanks to the orange-and-blue team from Auburn, which downed the fifth-ranked Tide in one of the wildest Iron Bowls in recent memory.

Alabama quarterback Mac Jones had an incredibly difficult task against Auburn's defense, but managed to throw four touchdowns, with three of them going to Jaylen Waddle. Waddle also returned a kick for a score. Unfortunately for the Tide, Jones also threw two pick-sixes. Those were two of the biggest plays in Saturday's game, but not the only ones.
Bo Nix wasn't as flashy, but completed 15 of 30 passes for a touchdown and no turnovers, adding 44 yards and another score on the ground.
The Tide missed a potential game-tying chip shot field goal with under two minutes remaining in regulation.

Alabama vs. Auburn updates, highlights
Final: Auburn 48, Alabama 45
7:33 p.m.: Final stats from a wild one in Jordan-Hare:
7:26 p.m.: Wow. Alabama's defense held but the punt team gave Auburn a first down by putting 12 players on the field. Tigers take two knees and permanently end the Crimson Tide's Playoff hopes in one of the wildest Iron Bowls in recent memory.
7:21 p.m.: Turnover on downs, Alabama. Bulavos hooked it. It bounced off the left post and now Alabama needs a defensive stop to stay in the game.
7:20 p.m.: Jones' pass is batted back into his hands. He's hit for a loss and Alabama will now attempt a game-tying field goal.
7:17 p.m.: Alabama has it third-and-goal from Auburn's 10 with 2:11 remaining. The Tide would definitely prefer a go-ahead touchdown as opposed to a field goal here, considering how Auburn has moved the ball. Speaking of which, the Tigers take a timeout.
7:15 p.m.: Alabama has it first-and-goal from the 9 with the clock winding around 3:30.
7:13 p.m.: Auburn sends the house, but Jones evades the rush and scrambles for an 18-yard gain and a first down. The Tide keep it moving to Auburn's 19.
7:10 p.m.: Alabama faces fourth-and-7 at Auburn's 45. Might be too much distance for Alabama's kicker, so it looks like the Tide will go for it with roughly five minutes remaining.
7:07 p.m.: Jones hits Ruggs for a 28-yard gain out to Auburn's 40. Defense is optional, it seems, for both teams.
7:01 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN, AUBURN. Running back Shaun Shivers takes the end-around for a 10-yard score. Nix hits Shedrick Jackson on the 2-point attempt to make it 48-45 Auburn.

7 p.m.: Nix gets another first down on the QB draw. Auburn's now knocking inside Alabama's 20.
6:58 p.m.: Auburn gets its third first down on the ensuing drive to get inside Alabama's 30-yard line.
6:49 p.m.: Or not. TOUCHDOWN, ALABAMA. Jones hits Waddle for another touchdown to make it 44-40 Alabama. The Crimson Tide attempt a 2-point attempt, but are called for false start. Bulavos hits the PAT to make it 45-40 Alabama.

6:48 p.m.: Harris gets another big gain. Alabama might try to ride him this quarter.
6:47 p.m.: Jones hits Smith for a 14-yard gain on the en route. Alabama gets a fresh set of downs but Smith is a little gimpy after getting tackled.
6:46 p.m.: Alabama tries for a flea-flicker on the first play of the fourth quarter, but it falls to the ground. Alabama facing third-and-5 from its 48.
Third quarter: Auburn 40, Alabama 38
6:49 p.m.: Jones hits Ruggs for a 33-yard gain on the crossing route out to the 43-yard line. One play later, Harris and Auburn's Thomas collide on a 5-yard gain for Alabama. Thomas is down, it seems, with a stinger.
6:36 p.m.: FIELD GOAL, AUBURN. Carlson sneaks the 44-yard field goal inside the right goal post to go 4 for 4 on the day. He makes it 40-38 Auburn.
6:34 p.m.: Williams is a little hot under the collar. He shoves McKinney after the play on an incomplete pass and costs the Tigers 15 yards. That'll make it third-and-24 from Auburn's 36.
6:31 p.m.: Whitlow starts the drive with a 35-yard run up the gut to Alabama's 22-yard line. He gets 1 yard on the ensuing run, but Alabama linebacker Christian Harris goes down on the play.
6:30 p.m.: Auburn responds with a three-and-out of its own. The Tigers should have good field position after this punt.
6:26 p.m.: Alabama's defense gives up some yards on Auburn's ensuing drive but holds on to force just the third Tigers punt on the day. The Crimson Tide will take over at their 10-yard line.
6:18 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN, ALABAMA. Jones hits Waddle in the end zone for a 12-yard touchdown, capping a five-play, 63-yard scoring drive. Another lead change as Alabama regains a 38-37 advantage.

6:15 p.m.: Jones completes to Ruggs for a 24-yard gain, reaching the Auburn 38. Crimson Tide already striking again.
6:09 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN, AUBURN. Jones' pass to Harris is behind his target and picked off in the end zone. Zakoby McClain returns the interception 100 yards for the touchdown. Massive change in momentum. Auburn 37, Alabama 31.

6:08 p.m.: Auburn is now called for a pass interference. Alabama with another first-and-goal opportunity.
6:06 p.m.: Auburn is called for defensive holding and roughing the passer on a third-down incompletion, allowing Alabama to set things up with a first-and-goal at the 3.
6:04 p.m.: Alabama has a first-and-goal after a successful screen pass to Harris that goes for 13 yards.
6 p.m.: Harris picks up 12 on a third-down run to get Alabama close to midfield.
5:55 p.m.: FIELD GOAL, AUBURN. Carlson drills a 43-yard attempt after the Tigers were unable to pick up a first down following Alabama's offsides penalty. Alabama 31, Auburn 30.
5:54 p.m.: Alabama is called for an offsides penalty on the attempt, giving Auburn a fresh set of downs at the Alabama 31.
5:52 p.m.: Nix's pass to Whitlow on third down went through Whitlow's hands. Auburn will attempt a 55-yard field goal.
5:50 p.m.: Jones is flushed out of the pocket and has to throw it away on third down. Crimson Tide to punt after the three-and-out.
5:48 p.m.: Alabama will start the second half with the ball on its own 12.
Halftime: Alabama 31, Auburn 27
5:31 p.m.: Halftime stats:
5:27 p.m.: FIELD GOAL, AUBURN. The perfect end to a wild half. Anders Carlson hits the 52-yarder to cut Alabama's into lead before halftime. The Tide will get the ball out of halftime with a 31-27 lead. Also: Nick Saban is not happy with refs after that call.

— CBS Sports (@CBSSports) November 30, 2019
5:25 p.m.: Refs put a second back on the clock.
5:24 p.m.: A little controversy at the end of the first half. Auburn's inside field goal range but the officials say the half ended before Auburn could get on the field to attempt a field goal. The play is under review.
5:19 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN, ALABAMA. Not to be outdone, Jones hits Waddle for a 58-yard touchdown reception with just 33 seconds remaining in the half. What a half. It's 31-24 Auburn.
Jaylen Waddle probably ran for this touchdown faster than the time it took to type out this tweet. pic.twitter.com/sQr2SrCBlL
— CBS Sports (@CBSSports) November 30, 2019
5:14 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN, AUBURN. Auburn kept making catch after acrobatic catch. Nix hits senior receiver Sal Cannella for a tip-toe touchdown to make it 24-all.

This is pretty much a perfect play. pic.twitter.com/gaOrcGaoJn
5:12 p.m.: And now Nix makes the big play, avoiding the rush to the left and throwing a first-down pass to receiver Will Hastings for the first down. Auburn driving at Alabama's 11 with 1:12 remaining in the half.
5:10 p.m.: Seth Williams with an amazing one-handed, 37-yard reception to give Auburn a fresh set of downs down to Alabama's 25. Patrick Surtain II had excellent coverage but Williams just made one of those plays.

5:04 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN, ALABAMA. Jones bobbles the snap, faces Brown in the pocket and then hits Henry Ruggs III in the back of the end zone for a touchdown. It's 24-17 Alabama.

5 p.m.: Turnover, Auburn. Xavier McKinney knocks the ball loose from Whitlow's grasp, and Christian Harris recovers deep in Auburn territory. This game is getting wild.
4:57 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN, ALABAMA. And now Waddle takes the ensuing kickoff to the house to tie it back up at 17! Lots of big plays — and miscues — by both teams in this half.
AMAZING.

4:54 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN, AUBURN. Smoke Monday makes his second big play of the game with a 22-yard interception return for a touchdown! Jones overthrew an open Jerry Jeudy on the out route, and Monday capitalizes to make it 17-10 Auburn.

4:54 p.m.: Also: Derrick Brown is back in the game for Auburn.
4:52 p.m.: Alabama starts at its own 12 after a block in the back on the ensuing kickoff return.
4:49 p.m.: FIELD GOAL, AUBURN. Alabama bends but doesn't break, forcing a field goal attempt. Anders Carlson knocks it dead-center from 43 yards to make it 10-10.
4:44 p.m.: Nix scrambles for 14 yards out to the Alabama 24. The Tide will need to keep an eye on him moving forward.
4:41 p.m.: Auburn running back JaTarvious Whitlow gets an 12-yard reception on third-and-10 out to Alabama's 38, but is down after the tackle. Several key Auburn players are down with injuries at the moment.
4:35 p.m.: Jennings very nearly intercepts a screen from Nix, but is down after falling down. Both the Tide and Tigers potentially down a big defender.
4:34 p.m.: Auburn All-American Derrick Brown walking off the field with what looks like an injury. That could be dangerous for the Tigers if he doesn't come back.
4:30 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN, ALABAMA. Harris gets his first touchdown of the day with a leaping 6-yard touchdown run to make it 10-7 Alabama.

4:26 p.m.: Alabama Wildcat specialist gets 2 yards on fourth-and-1 from Auburn's 35. Alabama's drive continues.
First quarter: Auburn 7, Alabama 3
(All times Eastern)
4:20 p.m.: Another 14-yard gainer for Harris gets Alabama beyond midfield to Auburn's 44. He also has 1,020 yards for the season with that carry.
4:18 p.m.: Alabama's back on offense, but it's worth noting that Auburn's speedy receiver Anthony Schwartz is heading to the locker room with an injury.
4:13 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN, AUBURN. Three plays is all it takes for Auburn to get in the end zone. Nix takes it on the keeper to make it 7-3 Auburn.

4:09 p.m.: Christian Tutt gets a 37-yard punt return to Alabama's 32, but Alabama linebacker Anfernee Jenkins injures him on the tackle. Jenkins went low and seems to have hurt Tutt's knee, though he walks off the field under his own power.
4:06 p.m.: On the ensuing play, Auburn safety Smoke Monday sacks Jones for a loss of 8. Three plays later, and Alabama is forced to punt.
4:05 p.m.: Mac Jones runs for a first down on third-and-10 ad runs headlong into defensive back Daniel Thomas and lineman Derrick Brown. No fear from him there.
4 p.m.: Auburn goes three-and-out on its next series, and will punt from its 31.
3:55 p.m.: FIELD GOAL, ALABAMA. Tide get points on their first drive after Auburn holds strong in their own red zone. Joseph Bulovas hits a 43-yard field goal to make it 3-0 Alabama.
3:54 p.m.: A holding call undoes what would be a 37-yard touchdown connection between Jones and Henry Ruggs III. On the next play, Harris gets a first down on a long gainer, including an acrobatic leap at the end. He's already over 51 yards rushing for the day.

— CBS Sports (@CBSSports) November 30, 2019
3:51 p.m.: Harris gets what looks like a 19-yard gain to get Alabama out to Auburn's 37-yard line. He's getting some nice big gains early.
3:48 p.m.: Najee Harris gets two rushes to start the day, netting Alabama a first down. He'll likely get lots of carries today.
3:44 p.m.: The play stands as called on the field, though it did look like a catch. Nix's pooch punt goes into the end zone and Alabama will take over at its 20. Time to see what Mac Jones can do for Alabama.
3:43 p.m.: Auburn is a reviewed play away from another long completion by Nix. Tigers will have a fresh set of downs just outside the Alabama 20-yard line if the play is reversed.
3:40 p.m.: Auburn already across midfield with two completions of 13 and 20 yards from Bo Nix. Great start for the Tigers.
3:28 p.m.: Regardless of your affiliation in this rivalry, this is undoubtedly one of the coolest traditions in college football. We're nearly ready for kickoff.
