Tuesday afternoon, three college basketball assistants found themselves at an entirely different type of court.
Arizona's Emanuel "Book" Richardson, USC's Tony Bland and Auburn's Chuck Person appeared in a New York City courtroom more than two weeks after they were arrested as part of a federal bribery investigation. The trio, among 10 high-profile figures arrested, including an adidas executive and prominent clothing store owner, were released on $100,000 bond. They're set to appear before a judge again at a preliminary hearing scheduled for Nov. 9, according to CBS Sports' Gary Parrish.

Person, a retired 14-year NBA veteran, is the most notable among the four coaches allegedly involved in the scheme. The three coaches who appeared Tuesday are accused of accepting money from third parties to either influence prospects to sign with schools or adidas upon entering the NBA. The investigation, which the NCAA was unaware of until the initial wave of arrests, has already caused Louisville to effectively fire both athletic director Tom Jurich and head coach Rick Pitino, while two assistants have been placed on leave. Federal authorities also subpoenaed officials from Nike's Elite Youth Basketball League, the swoosh's grassroots youth hoops arm, and more arrests are believed to be forthcoming.
